Office2 lets you change a slide's background color or background image. You can do this by tapping on the slide background twice (ensure that you do not tap twice too quickly since this will be interpreted as a double-tap gesture). A menu will appear showing a "Set background" menu item. When you select the menu item, a popover will appear, which will let you choose between adding a background image and selecting a background color.
