You can add a shape to the slide by pressing the Media button and tapping a shape in the list of shapes. The new shape will be added centrally within the slide. After you have added the shape, you can then move it to the appropriate place within the slide. You can swipe the shape chooser to show more pages of shapes from wihich to choose.
